Job description

We are looking for a Optical Engineer who can lead the design, development, and integration of optical systems for multi-spectral sensing solutions. As optical engineer you drive innovation in optical design to enhance sensor performance, aligning with market needs and company objectives. Furthermore, you ensure that optical components meet quality, cost, and performance requirements for all verticals.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and execute optical system designs, including lens, filter integration, and optical path configuration, tailored to multispectral imaging requirements​.
  • Conduct optical simulations and modelling to optimize sensor performance across different spectral bands​.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, software, AI engineers) to ensure seamless integration with the overall system.​
  • Oversee prototyping, testing, and calibration of optical assemblies, ensuring they meet performance and quality standards.​
  • Research emerging technologies in optical engineering and propose enhancements for future product iterations.​
  • Develop documentation for optical system designs, calibration procedures, and quality assurance guidelines.​
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the optical engineering team.

Requirements

  • You have a proven work experience (+8 years) in optical system design, ideally with imaging systems.
  • Deep knowledge of optical design, simulations, and testing techniques.
  • Expertise in multi-spectral imaging technologies.
  • Proficiency in optical design software like Zemax, Code V, or LightTools.
  • Familiarity with optomechanical integration tools like SolidWorks or AutoCAD .​
  • Knowledge of camera calibration and testing of optical systems.​
